Welcome to our Garden Spirits website! We're delighted to share our 'Spirits' with you.

The art of creating Garden Spirits was introduced to Eastern Canada by Dutch-born Tineke several years ago.  Garden Spirits are Tineke and Dan's own one-of-a-kind, hand made fabric sculptures.   The sculptures evolve as a fabric hardener is worked into the weft of natural fibres such as cotton, wool, silk and linen.  As the hardener is applied, the fabric is slowly and meticulously shaped into a sculpture which is then allowed to dry into a statue for display year-round in the garden or inside the house. 

We have some gorgeous granite rock in our area which when used as a base for our Garden Spirits, can provide a striking anchor to the Sculpture and a stunning bridge to your garden. 

Our Garden Spirits may be displayed indoors or out, both summer and winter.  We've left many outside for several winters now.  They are virtually weather impervious.  Spray them off with a hose in the spring, and they're good as new!

Garden Spirits may be made from the most ordinary of materials found around the house and  garden, or from exotic heirloom material.  Either way, they fast become a friend evoking a sense of peace, calm and simplicity. 

Best of all-  "They make you smile!"

Placed near a pond, a path, a garden, a brook.
In a kitchen, a den, on a shelf, in a nook.
With sedentary grace, each figure will cry:
"I am your Spirit.. a new friend to sit by."
